LINEAGEWORX CYBERSECURITY POLICY

1. Intent and Scope

This cybersecurity policy provides the basis of cybersecurity management within LineageWorx. This policy applies to all of LineageWorx users, employees, contractors, volunteers, vendors and anyone else who may have any type of access to LineageWorx systems and software. Effective protection of business information creates a competitive advantage, both in the ability to preserve the reputation of LineageWorx and in reducing the risk of occurrence of negative events and incidents.

2. Password Requirements

To avoid users’ account passwords being compromised, these best practices are advised for setting up access

        a. LineageWorx have High Strength Minimum password requirements in place.
       
b. Do not write down password and leave it unprotected
        c. Do not exchange credentials with others.
        d. Change passwords at least every six months.
        e. Use Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). See LLD Manage Account Guide.


3. Device Security and Using Personal Devices
Users are recommended to follow these best practice steps
        a. Keep all electronic devices passwords secure and protected.
        b. Logging into accounts should only be performed through safe networks.
        c. Install security updates on a regular basis.
        d. Upgrade antivirus software on a regular basis.
        e. Never leave devices unprotected and exposed.
        f. Lock computers when unattended.


4. Acceptable Use
Users are responsible for protecting all confidential information used and/or stored on their accounts. This includes their user logins and passwords. Users are prohibited from making unauthorised copies of such confidential information and/or distributing it to unauthorised persons.


5. Security Requirements
LineageWorx will perform regular backups of important new/changed data, software and configuration settings.
Users must report any security breaches, suspicious activities or issues that may cause a cyber security breach to LineageWorx.

 

6. Infrastructure Security

The LineageWorx Livestock Database platform is backed by Microsoft’s enterprise grade hosting and database solutions. Access to back-end resources is secured by enterprise grade two-factor authentication, with strong observance to security best practices.

 

7. Account Authentication

Individual accounts are protected by strong password authentication policies with optional two-factor authentication for user accounts. Optional security features such as forcing strong passwords or mandatory two-factor authentication options can be set at the tenant level.

 

8. Payment Security

All credit card payments are handled via a PCI Compliant third party (Stripe); with full credit card details inaccessible to both users and LineageWorx administrators.
